
Dr. Steevie
Jane Parks is
a licensed psychologist who has been working in the field of mental
health since 1975. She has been in private practice since 1988. Dr.
Parks has a Ph.D. in Clinical and Developmental Psychology and has
worked in both in-patient and out-patient settings with children, adolescents
and adults. She specializes in the evaluation and treatment of resistant
depressions, post traumatic stress disorder, obsessive-compulsive disorder,
attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, Asperger Syndrome and generalized
anxiety disorder.
Dr.
Parks has post-doctoral training in clinical hypnosis, EMDR (eye
movement desensitization and reprocessing), family systems theory,
expressive art therapies and helping people to work through childhood
traumas involving sexual abuse. She continually participates
in conferences and workshops in order to stay current in the
her specialty areas.
Her
practice is focused on working with adults who are undergoing
major life transitions and need to resolve issues related to
personal and professional identity, establishing more fruitful
relationships and learning to express their authentic selves
in ways that fit with their values, hopes and future endeavors.
She also provides consultation as well as psychological evaluations
of children, adolescents and adults. Finally, Dr. Parks provides
expressive arts workshops that are aimed at helping people learn
to effectively utilize their own creativity in order to explore
and resolve issues that hold them back from living a full and
productive life.
