under the guidance of a mental health professional who is either certified
or licensed to provide this type of treatment.

A. Art Therapy, is considered to be an independently licensed profession in
only two states in this country at the present time. A licensed psychologist
can provide art therapy as part of his or her general clinical practice. However,
not many do this as it requires specialized training that is not readily available
in most states. It is also very helpful if they have a background in Fine Arts,
as they should be familiar with a range of art materils and how to use them.

A. Art therapy is used to help clients to express feelings and thoughts using
visual imagery when words are hard to find.
