Asperger
Syndrome Workshop
This
is a supportive therapy group where young women age 15 through 18 with
a diagnosis of Asperger Syndrome can discuss personal issues and practice
skills that will enable them to engage in more effective and satisfying
interpersonal relationships. We focus on learning to identify and build
on personal strengths, and to practice greater acceptance of self and
others. We also practice the development of a variety of crucial social
skills that will help participants to join in with their peers in more
successful ways.
This
group meets for 12 consecutive Thursday evenings from 5:00 p.m. to
6:30 p.m. The purpose of the group is to provide a safe and comfortable
atmosphere where older teenagers and young women can learn to master
a variety of interpersonal skills and to learn how to feel less anxious
about themselves and their relationships with others.
The
cost of this group is $600.00 in advance or $60.00 per session.
This group may be partially covered by insurance plans. Please call Dr. Parks
at 919-918-1014 for more information regarding this group.
